DR. RODNEY OUELLETTE, CEO & DIRECTOR OF DISCOVERY
As founding Scientific Director of the Institute, Dr Ouellette has assembled a multi-disciplinary team of scientists whose focus is on cancer research, particularly in breast cancer and lymphoma. Under his leadership, the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute has become a premier research facility in Atlantic Canada in the field of cancer research. Under his guidance, researchers have been awarded more than $18 million in research funding.
Dr Ouellette received both his MD and PhD (Molecular and Cellular Biology) degree from Université Laval in 1996. He then completed his residency certification at the Université de Sherbrooke in 1998. He is currently associate professor of medicine at Université Laval and associate professor of biochemistry at Université de Moncton, University of N.B. and l'Université de Sherbrooke. Member of Board of Directors of the Canadien Cancer Society - NB division, member of Board of Directors of the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation, member of the board of directors of the New Brunswick Medical Society and member of the Board of Advisors of the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation. Dr. Ouellette has also been active on many other national bodies.
In addition to being actively involved in cancer research initiatives and forging strategic partnerships Dr. Ouellette has published a number of scientific papers and articles.
