Mass spectrometry is a technique that permits the identification of a protein based on a known fingerprint for that protein. Many of the ongoing projects at ACRI rely on the ability to identify proteins on a large scale (a science known as proteomics), specifically our microvesicle project and our investigations of gene pathways and regulation.
